Summary

The growth design team is proposing new features, and we need to create engaging animations to showcase the flow to the project management and engineering teams. Two designers developed two reel card features, and I was assigned to create the animation.

Project 1 - Reel Cards for Movie Trailers

Context

Kuaishou, primarily a short video platform, launched a movie feature to boost engagement and retention among users familiar with short-form content.

Problem

Low user awareness and conversion rates for the movie feature among short video-oriented user base.

Challenge

How might we encourage short video users to explore the new movie feature?

Hypothesis

We believe that implementing a reel card for the new movie feature will preview popular and trending movies, encouraging users to explore this content while scrolling through their reels.

Project 2 - Reel Cards for Product Discovery

Context

Shopping is currently Kuaishou’s most profitable revenue stream, and the company is actively seeking innovative ways to promote and enhance its shopping experience.

Problem

Although short video views are high, the conversion rate to shopping is low.

Challenge

How might we leverage short video views to enhance shopping intent and conversion rates?

Hypothesis

We believe that implementing an auto-popup 3D product model will allow users to interact with and closely examine the product, thereby increasing purchase intent.
